Making My Wonderfold Weather Cover Work With My Pull Handle

Making My Wonderfold Weather Cover Work With My Pull Handle

I don’t just make accessories for a job. I am a real life, year-round wonderfold wagon mom... and like any other wagon mom, I “dress” my wagon for the seasons. For the summer, I opt for cooling mats & fans. The winter and fall, I reach for my footmuff,  weather cover and quilted nap mat.

Like many of you, I snagged the waterproof weather cover when Wonderfold released it, only to be annoyed with how it functioned with my pull handle. The pull handle snagged on the weather cover and pulled it out of place. The pull handle was/is not functional tucked behind the front pocket flap because once it is in use, it puts added strain on the zipper seams and could not fully telescope vertically. I wanted the reflective strip to stay visible AND I did not care for the flapping sound the buckles of the pull handle made when it pulled on the weather cover. I loved the overall concept, but wanted the functionality of my other accessory.

So, as any crafty mom would do… I did a little sewing surgery! This quick “hack” is just a simple 10 minute project that could make your weather cover experience more functional for your winter wagon. We are aiming for functionality vs. perfection… So if you are okay with a little DIY project, this one is for you :)

IMPORTANT REMINDER: I am not affiliated with Wonderfold. I am simply a wagon mom that enjoys her wagon in all seasons. It's important to note that if you alter the weather cover, it will void any warranty you have with Wonderfold. Please take that into consideration before you cut, sew, alter or add anything to your wagon accessories.
